THERE was a great turnout for the Spring Clean last Saturday. 60 people collected over 25 bags plus some other items during the litter pick. The Town Council and Northleach Fosse Lions would like to thank everyone who turned up and to the Northleach Pavilion for providing the refreshments after the event.

We appreciate that lots of people do litter picking throughout the year and would like to hear from anyone who is interested in borrowing our pickers and bags to help them.

HAVE you voted for the Play Area yet? The Northleach Play Area Project has been selected for Tesco’s Bags of Help Grant scheme. Three groups in every Tesco region have been shortlisted to receive a cash award and shoppers are being invited to head along to Tesco stores to vote for who they think should take away the top grant. Our project is one of three shortlisted for voting in March and April so you still have a few weeks left to vote.

Customers should receive one token per transaction (of any value) to enable them to vote for a project in stores. Please note that our local stores for voting in March and April are the Tesco superstore at Stow on the Wold and The Tesco Express in Moreton in Marsh. (Cirencester is not considered to be our region). You can read more about how the Play Area Project is progressing by going to our Facebook page facebook.com/groups/182780651806978/

THE Historical Society meet on Wednesday, May 2 at 7.30pm for the talk “We Built this Town”. How did masons and builders in the Middle Ages construct houses, churches and manors, many of which are with us still? John Putley of Gloucester Archives shows us the tools used to do the job, discusses where the materials came from and how they were transported, and explains the techniques of building and decorating in medieval times.

Members are free and  visitors welcome with a £3 charge.
