THE next meeting of Fairford & Lechlade Business Club will be the AGM on Thursday, April 26 at 7.30pm at Hatherop Castle School. Everyone can enjoy a magical evening with FLBClub Business Person of the Year 2018 winner, Andy Cole Magic. Andy will talk about how he turned his hobby into a business and will, of course, perform a few amazing magic tricks. Afterwards, everyone will be able to enjoy a fish and chip supper courtesy of The Cotswold Chippy, winners of the FLBClub New Business of the Year 2018 award. Wine and soft drinks will be served. FAIRFORD Art Society Get Together painting session will be at 1.30pm on Thursday, April 26 at Fairford Community Centre. Subject: ‘A figure as the painting’ any medium. THE 2nd Fairford Community Voice Annual General Meeting will take place on Thursday, April 26 at 7pm in the Farmor Room of Fairford Community Centre. Following the business meeting, Jenny Phelps, from the Farming and Wildlife Advisory Group SW (FWAG), will outline the programme to improve the environmental quality of the River Coln and Countryside Access around Fairford. Michael Birnie from the Ernest Cook Trust will also provide an update on some of their projects around Fairford. Refreshments from 6.45pm. Membership £6 (£4 retired) per household. MINI Praise at St Mary’s Church, Fairford is on Thursday, May 3 at 1.45pm for pre-schoolers and their carers. A lovely little free session with stories, songs, crafts, and snacks.

STILL a few tickets left for the Fairford Festival of Fiction 2018. Featuring Sherlock star and co-creator, Mark Gatiss. He will be joined by Life on Mars co-creator, Matthew Graham, plus crime novelist Sarah Hilary, children’s author, Ross Montgomery and poet Chrissy Williams. The children of Fairford Primary School will be the opening act, as prize winners in a story contest, and will get to read their work on stage. Making a return to the Fairford Festival will be children’s author and artist, Sarah McIntyre as part of the main Festival programme.
