POLICE have closed a major road through Stroud while they investigate an incident involving a cyclist this morning.
The road closure is in place on the A419 Cainscross Road from Cainscross roundabout to Merrywalks roundabout, and the main road is not expected to reopen for some time.
Road closures in place in the area of Caincross Road, junction with Gannicox Road, Stroud. Officers currently dealing with an RTC involving a cyclist. A police spokesperson said that they could not confirm when the road would reopen, and warned parents that road access to both Marling School and Stroud High School would be restricted.
The road closure runs the full length of Cainscross Road and is expected to be in place for some time
School coaches and buses will also be affected by the road closure.
Anyone with any information should contact the police on 101 quoting incident number 22 of 23/4.
