Lloyds Banking Group have confirmed the Cricklade branch will be closing in October.

Cricklade is one of the seven towns in the South West set to lose their Lloyds branch who are closing 49 across the country.

The group have also stated there will be 'some' role reductions as a result of the closure but plan to redeploy where there preference is in order to retain expertise and experience.

A new mobile branch will be available in Cricklade which will give customers easy access to everyday banking services such as deposits, withdrawing cash and paying bills.

A Lloyds Bank spokesperson said: "We have made the difficult decision to close the Lloyds Bank Cricklade branch in October 2018 due to the changing ways customers choose to bank with us, which has resulted in the branch being used less often.

"We apologise for any inconvenience that this may cause and will be speaking to customers about the new mobile branch service, which will be on the road before the branch closes, as well as their nearest alternative branch, which is Gorse Hill Swindon.

"The new mobile branch service will provide a vital service to the Cricklade area. Customers can also continue to access their banking locally by visiting the nearby Post Office, which is a short walk from the branch."
