FOUR retired police officers will be driving from John O'Groats to Lands End on Friday, April 20.

Paul Morrissey, Martyn Hillier, Kev Roseblade and Pete Craddock will be making the 874 mile trip in a Morris Minor police car from 1964 to raise money for Winston's Wish.

The group were police officers in the roads policing team at Gloucestershire Constabulary and saw first-hand the devastation that can occur on the road. The job was particular traumatic it was personally very difficult if children were involved, either through their own injuries or the loss of their family.

Paul works at Cotswold’s BMW and seeing a colleague sell his first Morris Minor gave Paul the inspiration for the idea to support Winston's Wish who they would unfortunately worked closely with after serious incidents so felt it was befitting that we would all drive a 55 year old Morris Minor, which will be converted to a Police car, along the length of the country.

There will be strategic stops during the six day trip at pubs and police forces in Scotland, Cumbria, Lancashire, Merseyside, Greater Manchester, Cheshire, West Mercia, Gloucestershire, Avon and Somerset, Devon and Cornwall.
