THE Chedworth Roman Trail 10 mile run scheduled for last weekend had to be postponed due to the waterlogged state of the ground. The usual parking area was unusable and with no practical alternative parking available for the number of vehicles required by the expected 500 runners the organisers had no option but to cancel.

The organisers hope to reschedule the event to the 2nd of September.

HAWKS Lane will be closed from 8am - 4pm daily excluding weekends until April 27 for Highways maintenance drainage works involving the construction of a single gully and a double gulley, laying pipes, and laying concrete panel drains.

CHEDWORTH Parish Council considered a planning application for Farm workers dwelling on Chedworth Airfield at their April meeting. The Council agreed to support the application as long as it was a single story dwelling and that it  remained in agricultural use in perpetuity.

THE Council also considered an application by the Chedworth Horticutural society to use the recently cleared area of scrub opposite Valley View for a demonstration garden with raised beds. The decision was put on hold when it was suggested St Andrews School might be a better location.

THE Council is to purchase some new “Our Children Play Here - No Fouling” signs in an attempt to tackle the problem of dog mess on the playing field.

THE second of two Parish Council First Aid sessions will be held in the Village Hall next Wednesday, April 25 commencing at 7.30 pm.
