A parachute display team will be making a live jump at a Rugby tournament on Saturday May 12.

The RAF Falcons parachute display team will be dropping into the Minety 7s Rugby tournament which will also feature an appearance by the Guinness World Record Holders, Team Horus, who, with help from some Minety players, broke the world record for the longest continuous game of rugby 7's when they passed 24 hours last July.

Based at Brize Norton, the Falcons are the UK’s top military parachute display team and are expected to drop in between 12pm and 2pm on the day.

The 7’s tournament, featuring men’s and women’s competitions, starts at 11am at Minety Fields. In addition to the rugby there will be food and drink outlets and pitch-side entertainment for all the family.

Overnight camping has been organised for those who wish to stay for the weekend as well as a breakfast club in the club house on the Sunday morning.

The entry lists for both competitions are filling up quickly so anyone wishing to enter a team should contact Jack Ward via Minety's website (www.minetyrfc.com).
