LADY golfers club together to raise money for the MS Society.

Former ladies club captain at Naunton Down's golf club Gill Ashton chose the charity to raise funds for last year as her husband lives with multiple sclerosis (MS)

Gill and her fellow ladies raised a massive £3,290 from a range of activities including raffles, cake sales, forfeits and fines at competitions and a pudding afternoon.

MS is an unpredictable condition that affects more than 100,000 people in the UK.

It’s different for everyone but is often painful and exhausting and can cause problems with how you walk, move, see, think and feel.

Gill, ladies captain for 2017-2018 said: “My aim was to raise £2,000 but we raised over £3,000.

“I’m very pleased with the total and want to thank members at the club for their generosity.

MS Society Area Fundraiser Andy Jarrett said “People like Gill who have first-hand experience of MS and therefore choose to raise funds or volunteer to help improve the care, specialist support and treatments available to people affected by the condition are a real inspiration.

“To have raised such a significant sum and helped spread understanding and awareness of MS makes such a difference which we very much appreciate.”
