Perry Bishop and Chambers have chosen Tetbury Hospital as their charity of the year for 2018.

The estate agent will make a donation to the hospital from each house sale that they make this year.

Paul Boden, Branch Manager at Tetbury said: "delighted to be supporting the work of this fantastic local service which, unlike other hospitals, relies on fundraising and the generosity of local people in order to stay open."

Tetbury Hospital Trust is a charity that receives payment from the NHS for patient treatments, though not for the upkeep of the building.

The hospital rely's on fund raising and generosity from residents of the town in order to survive. The community of Tetbury raised £1m back in 1992 through a fundraising project and the independent charitable trust took over the hospital after Gloucestershire Health Authority proposed to close the hospital down.

Tetbury hospital chief executive Zena Dalton said: "as Tetbury expands with beautiful new homes we want to ensure we have the capacity to deliver first class services to our growing community. I am so pleased that Perry Bishop have chosen Tetbury Hospital as its charity of the year."
