A PROLIFIC Cirencester burglar has been sentenced to 12 months imprisonment for three burglaries.

Today, at Gloucester Crown Court, Craig Russell, of Oakley Road, was handed the jail term while also receiving a 5 year ban from Cirencester centre between the hours of 7pm and 7am.

Russell was found to have raided two shops in town before trying to break into the bowling club just two months after being released from his last jail term.
Russell, who has been recalled to prison for the breach of his parole, refused to attend Gloucester Crown Court last week for the hearing and his sentence was announced in his absence by Judge Jamie Tabor QC.

Russell had pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to two offences of burglary and one of attempted burglary.

During the sentencing today, Judge Tabor suggested Craig 'Stops thinking about himself for two minutes.'
