A USED car centre is set to open in Cirencester in the coming weeks.

Signs have appeared at the former Mitsubishi garage on Gloucester Road in Stratton, displaying details of the forthcoming Cirencester Trade & Save business.

The move will see the currently derelict site being used for the same form of business as its previous guise as a dealership for car manufacturer Mitsubishi.

The prominent site located at the gateway to the town, has stood empty for more than a year after CCR Motor Co. Ltd decided to consolidate its four Mitsubishi dealerships in Wiltshire and Gloucestershire into two main sites in Cheltenham and Swindon, as well as a further site in Bristol.

That led to two dealerships in Cirencester and Melksham closing at the end of 2016.

The two sites employed a total of 22 people.
