GUIDES at a thriving group in Wiltshire are celebrating after watching Rhiannon Bull take her final steps towards gaining her leadership qualification.

Rhiannon (known as Rhi) began as a volunteer at 2nd Cricklade Guides 18 months ago, and started on her journey to become a qualified Guide Leader.

She completed her Leadership qualification in December, following an exciting trip to London that she organised and led to a Girlguiding exclusive gig at Wembley Arena and a day of exploring the sites.

She received her official acknowledgement from Rachel Mead, District Commissioner for Braydon & Cricklade, and the qualification was presented in front of her very own Guides.

Guide Evie, 12, said: “Rhi is an excellent leader, she always lets us choose what we would like to do in Guides and makes things fun. She’s always encouraging us to do things and she’s a very positive person.”

Rhi said: “It wasn’t hard to complete the qualification as I had so much help from my mentor, the other Leaders and the Guides - they even helped to sign off some of my modules.

"If I had known how much fun it was to be a Girlguiding Leader I would have volunteered years ago.  Already I have done things I had never done before, I’ve been to Switzerland and Hungary, I’ve made many new friends and thanks to my new-found confidence I have even been promoted at work.

"I am now busy planning this coming year’s activities and I’m now looking at taking the Guides abroad once I’ve gained my Going Away qualification. The girls are debating the destination, but we’re leaning towards Berlin.”.
