WORK on a £24,000 revamp of the car park at Cam and Dursley railway station is due to start this week.
Gloucestershire County Council is funding the improvements project which will create ten extra parking spaces for commuters.
As well as the additional parking, the bus shelter will be refurbished and potholes in the overflow car park will be filled in.
New road markings, aimed at improving the flow of traffic through the parking area, will also be added and existing markings will be repainted.
Work, which is taking place outside of peak hours to minimise disruption, on the site is due to begin this week and is scheduled to be completed by the end of March.
Nigel Moor, cabinet member for fire, planning and infrastructure, said: “This work will go some way to easing congestion outside Cam and Dursley station.
"By making better use of the available space and how car park users navigate this, we can help to make the area safer as well as improving parking facilities.”
