CHOREOGRAPHER and professional dancer Jenny Phillips visited North Cerney and Bibury primary schools to teach pupils some dance moves.

Jenny regularly stars in and choreographs one of the UK’s leading live children’s shows, Justin Live, alongside CBeebies’ Justin Fletcher and his ever popular character Mr Tumble. She also choreographs pantomimes across the UK.

At each school, she taught the children some basic moves and then encouraged them to improvise part of the dance themselves.

With a combination of catchy, contemporary songs and enormous, infectious energy, Jenny was able to give all the children the confidence to dance, even those who thought they could not.

At the end of the day parents came to watch a celebration of the day's activities and saw for themselves how far their children had progressed in a short space of time.

Jenny also ran a Q & A session where the children found out about her early career, her favourite shows and what was needed to do to become a dancer.

Tyler, a student from North Cerney, said: “I enjoyed the dance because Jenny had chosen really good music.”

Executive headteacher of both schools, Suki Pascoe said: "Both days were made possible by funding from the Sports Premium and it was so exciting to see children in small, rural schools having access to first class dance teaching.

"The children loved the experience and are keen for Jenny to come again.”
