A FATHER of three is taking on the ski challenge of a lifetime, to raise money for charity.

Dave Clarke, a business consultant from Brinkworth, is part of a team of four skiers covering 150 kilometres over the next two days, in an annual fund-raising event for Snow-Camp.

The group met through Skiworld, an independent ski operator, and having enjoyed skiing together, decided to take on the challenge.

Taking place in Morzine, France, Dave and his team will be competing in the incredibly tough AJ Bell Alpine Challenge, competing against 20 other teams to reach the finish line first.

They will have to navigate through set checkpoints, passing through 15 linked ski resorts villages that form the massive Port Du Soleil in the French and Swiss Alps.

Dave said: “I love skiing and a challenge.

“I also believe that everyone deserves to be the best they can be.

“The challenge means I can do something I love doing to raise funds to help Snow-Camp change the lives of young people who would not otherwise have the opportunity.”

Snow-Camp help inner city kids improve themselves and their life chances through snow based activities at facilities in the UK like Gloucester Ski Centre.

Dan Charlish, Founder and Director of Snow-Camp said: “We have over 100 people taking part this year and the event keeps growing.

“David and his team have already raised over £2,800 for our work with young people, which is a fantastic effort, especially as it will be supporting young people on our Bristol programme, which runs from Gloucester Ski Centre.”

The group are aiming to raise £4,000.
