AN OPTICIANS in Cirencester are helping to ensure better road safety for youngsters.

Specsavers on Cricklade Street are donating 50 high visibility vests to the 1st Cirencester Scouts.

The vests will go to the beavers group made up of youngsters aged from six to eight years old to ensure they will be seen when out and about during the darker months of this year.

Cirencester Specsavers store director Kelly-Anne Nelson said: “We are committed to helping local children stay safer on the streets.”

“Anything that helps educate young people about road safety or to make them more visible, especially to drivers, is invaluable.”

“It’s great that we’ve been able to support the scouts group.”

“As Scouts often take part in outdoor activities, we hope the high visibility vests will provide some peace of mind for parents and those who look after them.”

The 1st Cirencester Scouts will use the vests when out and about with the beavers, cubs, scouts and leaders during various activities throughout the year.
