A COLDER start today will see the region on the outskirts of a yellow warning, with sunshine and heavy showers bringing the risk of hail, sleet or even snow.
The cold and windy conditions will prevail through the rest of the day with temperatures reaching highs of 7°C.
Turning cloudier in the evening, with rain arriving, the wind will continue with frost possible in a few places later on as temperatures drop below zero, to as low as -1 °C.
