IN an entertaining game at Broadham, Painswick came back from a tardy start to put in a creditable performance against a strong Cents team, with a balance of experienced veterans and promising youngsters.

Painswick started slowly and the visitors were 14 points up with two converted tries from incisive handling and running.

Painswick knuckled down well, the forwards battled gamely with Dan Tanner, Tom Coombs and Sean Jeffries always prominent in attack and defence.

With Nathan Evans always alert at scrum -half, backs Sam Andrews and Neil Churchill were always threatening.

Tries were scored by Coombs (2), Jeffries, Tom Price and Russ Thornton. This was an excellent preparation for Painswick as they resume league action at Tetbury this Saturday.
