ONE of the two dogs that went missing on Christmas Eve has been found, but his owner is pleaing for people to join the search for the second dog, an elderly deaf terrier, who is still missing.

Hundreds of people have been combing the area for Roxy and Monty for nearly two weeks, but just over an hour ago owner Jo Dalton announced that Monty, the escpaed black cocker spaniel, had been found.

Monty is understood to have been found near the B4066, between Woddchester Park and Coaley Peak, just after 4pm this afternoon, and his owners hope that he will now lead them to Roxy, the missing golden terrier, who is deaf.

Owner Jo Dalton has issued a plea for help to find the elderly terrier this evening, who she believes may have got stuck down a badger hole in the area:

"Monty was seen in fields below the scrambling track in this picture, before making his way through the woods to the B4066 where he was found.

"The car park is seen lower left of shot and the woods between that and the scrambling track may lead us to Roxy, we think she may be stuck in a hole as it looks like Monty has been digging," Jo explained.

Search teams are continuing to search for the missing golden terrier Roxy, who will not be able to hear Jo's calls as she is deaf.

Anyone who would like to join the search this evening is asked to keep dogs on leads, remain quiet to listen for whining from the elderly dog and to bring torches.

Volunteers should check the Facebook group Missing Dogs: Monty and Roxy, GL10 and call one of the following numbers if they see the golden terrier: 07548273507 or 07900502089 or 01453860586 or 01453843522
