SIX villagers in Charfield, South Gloucestershire, received an early present last week after winning £210,000 through a lottery on Christmas Eve.
Their postcode was drawn as a winner of People’s Postcode Lottery winning five of them £30,000 each.
Public care consultant Sally Willcox, 47, was among them and said that the win came at the perfect time.
“We’ve just finished a big renovation project inside the house,” she said.
“But we still haven’t bought any furniture because we ran out of money, so this win is brilliant timing for picking up bargains in the January sales.
“My son and husband are big Star Wars fans and they play the board game X-Wing, so they’ll be looking for the latest kit for that.”
Another £30,000 winner was 37-year-old Darren Stride whose wife Jackie received the cheque on his behalf.
The other winner, who plays with two tickets, received £60,000.
@DanylAJohnson had such a lovely time meeting Sunday's #StreetPrize winners from GL12 8JA. “This will be a Christmas to remember for all of the lucky #Charfield winners," Danyl said. #MerryChristmas to all!https://t.co/swphWdNqKC pic.twitter.com/QrGbmrTyKR
