POLICE are warning residents of scam calls after an elderly couple from the Daglingworth area.
The couple received a telephone call from a man claiming to be from HM Revenue and Customs demanding several thousand pounds from them.
The man also said he would come to the couples address to collect the money. The caller's number was withheld.
The incident was reported to police on November 21.
Police have said that HM Revenue and Customs, banks or building societies would not act in such a way and advise residents not to disclose any private information to people over the phone.
If you do receive calls of this nature, consider reporting to Action Fraud https://www.actionfraud.police.uk
If someone comes to your home address, ring police.
