Alkerton Rangers...................................... 1

Frampton Utd 3rds....................................3

ALKERTON had most of the possession but were undone by careless defending.

Frampton took the lead on 29 minutes when a corner was not cleared and a far post volley gave keeper Chris Stark no chance.

The away side doubled their lead just before the break from a header from a free- kick.

On 50 minutes Alkerton were back in the game.

Scott Hindshaw fed Kev Potter in the centre of the Frampton half. He picked out his brother Dave on the edge of the area, who turned and drilled the ball into the bottom corner.

It was all Alkerton and they thought they’d equalised on 69 minutes but controversially Turner was adjudged to be offside as he converted Kirk Wilkinson’s through ball at the second attempt. Shortly afterwards an unfortunate own goal restored Frampton’s two-goal advantage.

A mazy run from Lewis Vanstone almost brought reward but it wasn’t to be Alkerton’s day.
