Malmesbury Vics 3
Keynsham 3

IN conditions more suited to a rugby match Malmesbury Vics and Keynsham served up a very entertaining high-scoring encounter, which included a goal for the hosts' keeper Adam Clatworthy.

The Vics started well and frustrated their high flying visitors who were repeatedly caught offside by a well-disciplined defence.

The home side took the lead on nine minutes when Jamie Packer took the ball out of the air with an exquisite touch and immediately lobbed the keeper.

Chances were few and far between for the remainder of the half but Keynsham equalised on 43 minutes when a long goal kick found Craig Wilson who slotted home.

The start of the second half saw four crazy minutes in which Keynsham took the lead with a wonder strike from 25 yards.

The Vics promptly equalised when a long Clatworthy goal kick evaded everyone and bounced over the Keynsham keeper's head to make it 2-2 on 48 minutes.

A minute later and Wilson found time in the box to score his second of the game.

However, the home side continued to battle and a Hughes free kick unluckily cannoned back off the post.

With eight minutes remaining, Malmesbury did level when Matty Jenkins stabbed home from close range.

Malmesbury Vics go again on Tuesday night in league action at home to Calne Town.
