POLICE are investigating after thieves attempted to steal a cash machine from the new Aldi store in Moreton-in-Marsh.
Shortly before 2am on Saturday, November 11, Gloucestershire police received a report of vehicles behaving suspiciously in the car park at the supermarket on Stow Road.
A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Police said: “Officers attended and found that a number of panes of glass had been broken where a vehicle had reversed into the building.
“The offenders had then attempted to remove the free standing cash machine from the store.
“A black car and a silver car were seen leaving the area towards Shipston, and investigating officers would like to hear from anyone who saw them or any other suspicious activity in the vicinity.
“The officers are investigating whether this incident is linked to any others in the county in the past week and liaising with neighbouring forces to establish whether they have similar incidents which might also be linked.”
Anyone with information is asked to call Gloucestershire Constabulary on 101 or email 101@gloucestershire.police.uk quoting incident 30 of November 11.
