TWO burglars broke into an antique shop in Market Place, Cirencester.

The burglary happened at around 11.45pm on Monday, November 6 after two men dressed in dark clothing smashed several cabinets which contained jewellery and then fled the scene in a vehicle.

The men had been dropped off by a dark or grey-coloured saloon-type vehicle on The Waterloo, behind The Fleece hotel in Market Place.

They fled in the same vehicle they arrived in.

Officers are appealing for witnesses to come forward. This includes anyone who may have witnessed this incident, or who was in or around the area of The Waterloo at the time and may have seen the vehicle and its occupants arrive or leave.

Anyone with information should call police on 101 or email 101@gloucestershire.police.uk and quote incident 487 of November 6.

Recently, there were a string of burglaries in the town's Woolmarket between October 19 and 20.

Clarke and Salter, Ava and Iva, and Café Mosaic were all raided by thieves overnight.

On the same night, attempts were made to enter jewellers Walter Bull & Son on Dyer Street, but the thieves were thwarted when the front door window failed to shatter.
