MALMESBURY Long Players will hold their latest concert next weekend, a medley of Beatles hits inspired by the band’s most iconic album.

The music loving group haven’t just learnt the tracks on their chosen album, as is tradition they’ve recreated the famous album artwork thanks to help from the people of Malmesbury.

The artwork features current residents and famous faces from Malmesbury’s history including King Athelstan, Eilmer the flying monk, a tiger in reference to Hannah Twynnoy and Thomas Hobbes.

Wilts and Gloucestershire Standard:

Also hidden in the crowd is Mick Fleetwood, whose image came from a photo at the Smoking Dog.

Dave Sturdy, who set up the Long Players five years ago, put the album cover together.

He said: “Thanks so much to everybody wo has contributed.

"They’ve really studied the looks and that adds to its success, if you squint it looks like you can’t tell them apart!”

The concert will be on November 18 at the Town Hall.

A child friendly matinee performance at 4pm with a livelier concert beginning at 8pm.
