CIRENCESTER TOWN and Yate Town managed to put on an eight-goal thriller when the sometimes fierce wind was the only winner and made it an embarrassing day for goalkeepers.

A goal direct from a corner and a 55-yard free kick from a goalkeeper summed up this occasionally laughable but always entertaining game.

Aidan Bennett for Ciren cancelled out Eugene Keary’s 14th minute opener before Henry Spalding curled in a corner on 21 minutes.

Then on 34 minutes Lewis Leigh-Gilchrist somehow found the net with a low shot from 25 yards.

Ciren came out with purpose in the second half and Ben Whitehead and Bennett quickly made it 4-2.

Then Ciren, lacking any composure, tried and failed to see out time at the corner flag.

Yate broke in numbers and Leigh-Gilchrist buried the equaliser with a neat back post volley with a minute of normal time to play. In an end to end first half the sides went in level after Aidan Bennett and |henry Spadling
