A REMEMBRANCE Day concert will be held at Cirencester Parish Church with a performance by Cheltenham Bach Choir and Northern Lights Symphony Orchestra.
Cirencester's Abbey 900 celebrations will continue on Saturday, November 11 with a performance of Brahms' ‘German Requiem’.
The evening will also include Herbert Howell's 'Take him, earth, for cherishing' written in response to the death of President John F Kennedy.
For this concert, the Cheltenham Bach Choir, under music director David Crown, will be joined by two notable international soloists, Joanne Lunn and Duncan Rock.
David Crown said: “Brahms’ German Requiem is one of the most heart-rending of Requiems; it was written by Brahms following the death of his mother.
"It’s a stunning choral work that manages to convey both the sacred and the humane, with waves of grandeur, yet at the same time, great intimacy.”
The concert is being held at the Parish Church of St John Baptist, Market Place, Cirencester GL7 2NX on Saturday, November 11, from 7.30pm.
Tickets are available from the information desk in the Corinium Museum (01285 654180). Alternatively, email tickets@cheltbachchoir.com For more information, visit the choir’s website www.cheltbachchoir.com
