TWO young men were arrested in relation to criminal damage to a house in Cirencester and a disturbance outside ReVA nightclub.

A pane of glass in a front door was smashed at a house in St Mary’s Road just after midnight on Sunday, September 24.

At 12.50am the same day police were also called to a disturbance at the Cricklade Street night spot.

A 17-year-old boy from Cirencester was arrested outside the club on suspicion of assault, while a 22-year-old from South Cerney was arrested “after a short foot chase”, according to Cotswold Police Sergeant Garrett Gloyn.

“Due to an absence of a complaint of assault from customers at ReVA” the 22-year-old was released with a penalty notice for disorder due to his behaviour at the time the officers confronted him.

The 17-year-old was released without charge, having been questioned regarding the damage caused in St Mary’s Road.

Sgt Gloyn said: “There was insufficient evidence to charge him at this time, so we are still interested to hear from witnesses to that damage to see if any new evidence can be secured.”

The incident number for the criminal damage offence is 10 of September 24.
