Bassett Bulldogs 0
Purton 4

PURTON joint-boss Neil Lee was working alone at the weekend as fellow manager Liam Lewis was away and he was delighted to see his side collect three more points with a fine 4-0 win away at Bassett Bulldogs, writes Alan Eastwood.

Chris Avery and Manuel Mesas both went close in the opening 15 minutes but Purton did go ahead in the 20th minute when Mesas chased a ball down the middle and scored with a great 20-yard shot.

On 36 minutes Purton were 2-0 up, when a Joe Dorey cross was turned in by Taylor Aitken from 12 yards.

Purton continued to dominate in the second half and went close on several occasions.

The added two more, on 71 minutes when Oliver Hawkins netted, and through Ben Brown in the 87th minute.

Lee was also pleased to see his side keep a second clean sheet in as many games.

This Saturday Purton play host to Corsham Town Reserves at The Red House (3pm kick-off).
