POLICE are appealing for people in Gloucestershire who have had fishing gear stolen to come forward after they arrested a man following a public tip off.
Officers visited an address in Wanborough, near Swindon, earlier this week after receiving a call from a member of the public who reported a number of stolen items on the premises.
A search of the address was conducted by Wiltshire Police officers and a large quantity of fishing equipment, believed to be stolen, was found and seized.
A 40-year-old local man was arrested for theft and handling stolen goods and has been released under investigation.
PC Dale Townsend said: "We'd like to hear from anyone who may have had fishing gear recently stolen - especially if you live in the South Cerney and wider Gloucestershire area."
If you can help with our enquiries in any way please contact PC Dale Townsend on 101 or anonymously, via Crimestoppers, on 0800 555 111.
