ON TUESDAY evening, representatives of Raw Energy, the company behind the proposed biodigester at Quobwell Farm, were invited to address concerns from Malmesbury Town Council over the possibility of nearly 250 daily movements of 30-tonne lorries should the application be allowed.
It was a productive dialogue and it was agreed that there would be a fact-finding meeting in the coming weeks in order for councillors to fully understand the proposals.
It was good to see the council and the applicant working together.
The same can not be said for the proposed Backbridge Farm development.
At the same planning meeting, councillors were also addressed by representatives from Persimmon Homes who want to build 231 homes at the site.
Councillors were left feeling that the developer was not addressing any of the issues raised when the application was denied last year.
Clearly the attitude taken by Raw Energy is a much more productive approach for everyone.
