POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a collision in Lechlade on Thursday (September 7), where a woman sustained serious injuries.

At 8.45am there was a collision between a cyclist and a lorry on the A361 close to the traffic lights with the A417 and the A361 towards the halfpenny bridge.

A 49-year-old man was travelling towards Fairford in a large goods vehicle tipper lorry when it was in a collision with a 52-year-old female cyclist from the local area.

The cyclist received serious leg injuries and was treated at the scene by paramedics from the South Western Ambulance Service and a Wiltshire Air Ambulance crew.

She was taken to Southmead Hospital in Bristol where she remains with serious injuries.

The investigating team would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the collision, who has not yet spoken to police, or who may have CCTV or in-car dashcam footage which may assist with the investigation.
