JUST Us Productions bought the new musical Bare: a pop opera to Stroud in July and received rave reviews from audiences.

Now the company have also received recognition on a wider stage, with three nominations at this year's Rosebowl Awards.

The Rosebowl awards have been presented annually since 1963 and are described as the ‘Oscars of the south west’ for the amateur stage.

They are open to any amateur dramatic or operatic club in Bristol and surrounding areas including Devon, Gloucestershire, Somerset and Wiltshire.

This is the first year that Just Us Productions have entered the Awards, with Bare: a pop opera, which was only their second full scale musical.

Founder and producer Pippa Robinson said: “We didn’t invite the Rosebowl’s along with the expectation to be nominated for any awards; we wanted an honest and unbiased review, and we were thrilled with our review”.

The company have received a total of three nominations for the Awards, for Best Supporting Actor Charlie Marshall for his role as Jason, Best Supporting Actress Pippa Robinson for her role as Ivy and Best Musical Production.

Director Peter Woolley said: “It’s great to see that my talented cast and crew have been recognised in such a way and, it will be great to go to the the awards night and put Just Us Productions on the musical theatre map amongst some of the big long standing clubs that the South West has to offer”

The awards ceremony is in Bristol on October 15.
