THERE will be a Service of Thanksgiving for the life of David, Duke of Beaufort at 12 noon on Friday, August 25 at St Michael and All Angels Church, Badminton.
The service will be a celebration of the Duke’s life, and filming and photography will not be permitted.
David Somerset, the 11th Duke of Beaufort, 89, died in his sleep at his home, Badminton House, last week.
The late Duke was a fifth cousin once removed of Queen Elizabeth II.
The 52,000-acre Gloucestershire estate where he died is best known for hosting the Badminton Horse Trials.
The Duke of Beaufort leaves a widow, Miranda, and four children in Harry, Anne, Edward and John, and he is succeeded by his eldest son Harry, the marquess of Worcester.
