THE long-awaited Stroud Fringe takes place this weekend all over the town centre and beyond. The Crown and Sceptre on Horns Road is hosting a particularly packed schedule.

Kicking off at 6.30pm on Friday, there will be live music all weekend in their beer garden marquee.

A whole range of acts include the hapless 'Gibberish' headlining on Friday, 'The Blueshounds' presenting their own brand of rock and blues on Saturday, and Sunday night's headliners 'The Nancy Boys.'

The entertainment also includes a dog show on Sunday (sign in from 2 for 3pm) and the extra-terrestrial dance music of 'Mr Marko’s Outer-Space Emporium' at 6.30pm on Sunday.

Continuing into Monday, there will be a yard sale flea marquee and a vegetarian noodle bar from 3-7pm.

If the weather puts on a poor show, it won't affect The Crown & Sceptre's – with everything under cover out of the rain. Besides, plenty of hot food and local ales will keep you warm.
