THE relaunched Siddington Cricket Club played their first fixture, away against Cowley CC in a T20 fixture recently.

Batting first the Cowley opening batsmen found runs hard to come by as precise bowling from brothers Louie and Ellis Sabbath saw only five runs coming off the first four overs.

Will Weston took the first Siddington wicket bowing Louis Del Rosso for 0.

The Cowley batsmen then upped the pace with Dave Holland 20, Tom Haywards 20 and Ed Anderson 22 all retiring not out. Cowley reaching 94-8 in their 20 overs.

Siddington kept up with the run rate throughout most of their innings Alan Poole 15 and Ben Atkinson 15; top scoring batsmen.

Needing 16 of the last over, Siddington were only able to score eight and at stumps were 86-8 thus losing by runs runs.

Louis Del Rosso was pick of the Cowley bowlers taking 2-22, Grace Blazey 1-11.

Opener Michael Burger (Parkend) made a classy 89 not out as Gloucestershire Under 14s cruised to a resounding six wicket win over Oxfordshire.

The right hander led from the front, hitting 13 fours to help his side chase down the 199 needed for victory in just 35.1 overs.
