THE new summer youth group Barn Youth Theatre brings its first production to Cirencester tonight (Wednesday, August 16).

Duncan Sheik and Steven Sater’s rock musical Spring Awakening will be staged at the newly re-modelled Barn Theatre.

Set in late 19th-century Germany, Spring Awakening is a vibrant celebration of youth and rebellion, fusing issues of morality, sexuality, and rock and roll into a story that packs a powerful emotional punch.

The production will be directed by StageSmart’s Benn Williams.

Rob Rayner, who has worked on professional shows including The Lion King and Wicked UK tour, will take over as musical director.

  •  Spring Awakening will be performed at The Barn Theatre, Cirencester. Spring Awakening from Wednesday, August-16-Saturday, August 19 at 7.30pm.
