A MICRO-BREWERY based at a multiple award-winning pub near Berkeley has been handed another prize to add to its overflowing trophy cabinet.

Tiley’s Brewery, which is run by the landlord of the Salutation Inn in Ham Peter Tiley, has been awarded the title of CAMRA champion beer of Gloucestershire 2017 for its 6.5 per cent India pale ale (IPA).

The powerful American-style IPA is brewed with large amounts of citra and equinox hops was voted the best in the county by judges at the Cotswold Beer Festival at the end of last month.

Following the announcement of the pub as the best in the county by the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) earlier this year, the beer prize makes this year one of double celebration for Mr Tiley whose pub was named the second best in the country by CAMRA in 2016.

Set up at the back of the pub in February 2015, Tiley’s Brewery has recently ramped up production following the recruitment of head brewer Jonny Mills formerly of Bristol Beer Factory. 

The brewery produces a range of traditional English bitters as well as several pale ales and IPAs. 

Most are sold directly from the Salutation Inn although it also supplies beer to select number beer specialist pubs in Bristol, Cheltenham, Gloucester, Tewkesbury and London.
