THE restaurant manager at Lechlade Garden Centre has had his flowing locks shaved off for charity.
Kyran Howitt, 25, raised over £200 for Marie Curie this month, having been encouraged by colleagues to go under the clippers for the good cause.
The Wyvedale-owned garden centre has supported Marie Curie as its nominated charity since 2014 and raised more than £3,000 for the charity last year alone.
On the cut-off day, Kyran, from Swindon, had raised around £200 with his target set at £300.
Staff and customers gathered around at the Fairford Road garden centre to watch as the luscious locks came off.
Hollie Paget, restaurant team leader, and Liz Smith, garden centre fundraiser, worked together with scissors and electric shavers to make short work of the job.
Kyran then took the shaver into his own hands and lopped off his beard.
“It’s all for a good cause, but I am worried what my fiancée will say,” he joked.
Marie Curie provide care and support for people living with any terminal illness, and their families.
