ENTRIES have been declared open for Cirencester Rotary Club’s third annual Junior Biathlon on September 30.

The event will start with a run at Deer Park School from 1pm, followed by swimming at Cirencester Leisure Centre from 6pm.

“Over 200 enthusiastic youngsters have participated in the past two years, we expect that many will return and hope that even more will try out this event for the first time,” organiser Rotarian Diane Jameson said.

“We encourage all young people to participate, as their experience can trigger a life-long interest in an active lifestyle.”

Age categories range from under 10 to under 14, with distances varying accordingly. Participants can qualify for regional and national championships, with times collated by Pentathlon GB.

A shorter fun run is staged for children under nine. Awards are given to each age group and for team achievements.

Visit pentathlonGB.org to register for age categories before September 18, or contact Diane on djameson34@talktalk.net to enter the fun run.
