  • OAKSEY has been placed second in the CPRE’s Medium Sized Village category of its Best Kept Village competition. Thanks go to those who spruced up their gardens especially.
  • OAKSEY’S Christian Aid collection raised £58.20.
  • THE restoration and conservation of the third middle wall painting in the church has now been completed and is spectacular; everyone is encouraged to go along to see the specialist work that has been carried out.
  • SUNDAY school takes place in the church on the third Sunday of each month, 10.30am, for children aged three years and upwards, preceding the family service at 11am. The next Sunday school is on August 20.
  • OAKSEY School’s Year 6 leavers’ service takes place tomorrow, 9.15am at All Saints Church; all welcome.
  • THE Youth Club’s new youth leader is Rachel, who works at Wiltshire Wildlife’s Lower Moor. She has lots of ideas for enjoyable activities including music sessions, scarecrow making, and the final session this term will be a slip and slide water fight.   • THIS Sunday there will be a Benefice Service held in Somerford Keynes church at 10am. If you are an early bird there is a Holy Communion service taking place in Tarlton Church at 8am. There will be no other services held in the parish.

  • SUNDAY evening Cirencester Royal British Legion branch will be holding a Quiz in The Black Horse pub Cirencester at 8pm and invites local members to join them.

  • POSTERS will be out soon re the Kemble School reunion event and the exhibition of Kemble past and present including remembering nearly 50 years of the produce show which will be on display in village hall on Saturday, September 9 from 12noon. 
  • THE Annual Orgi Motorcycle rally will be held on the Airfield site Kemble over the August bank holiday weekend and full details can be seen on the website just google for the site. Big bands/silly games lots of food available.
  • THE following weekend the annual Didmarton Bluegrass Festival will be held at Cotswold Airport  Kemble on September 1-3 and tickets are already on sale.
