BOTH the draft Local Plan and the draft Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL) for the Cotswold District have been submitted to the Secretary of State for Communities and Local Government.

A formal notice has been issued by CDC to confirm that the submissions were made on July 7, paving the way for the appointment of a planning inspectorate to examine both drafts.

It is anticipated that the hearings will take place during October and November, and could possibly spill over into early December if necessary.

Once the dates are confirmed, all details relating to the examination process will be advertised, made available online and also sent to all respondents.

To assist with the examination processes, the council has appointed independent programme officer Tracey Smith, who will maintain an examination library comprising the core documents.

The drafts and supporting documents can be viewed at cotswold.gov.uk or by contacting Tracey on 07989 582 577.

Electronic copies are also available to view at CDCs offices in Cirencester and Moreton Area Centre, as well as at libraries in Cirencester, Tetbury, Fairford, Lechlade, Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold, Moreton-in-Marsh and Chipping Campden.
