FELLOW members of Cotswold District Council's (CDC) planning committee have unanimously voted for Cllr Robin Hughes to become their new chairman.
Cllr Hughes replaces former chairman Cllr Tina Stevenson, who stood down from the role earlier this month, having only taken on the job in May.
He was nominated for the position by former Cirencester Mayor Cllr Mark Harris, who was seconded by Cllr David Fowles at a meeting of the committee this morning (Wednesday, July 12).
No other members were nominated.
Following the vote, Cllr Hughes said: "Members, thank you very much for your support."
He then joked: "I hope you don't regret it."
Cllr Hughes will hold the role until May 2018.
