SWINDON Robins have strengthened their side by bringing in Polish rider Tobiasz Musielak which means Austrian Dany Gappmaier's short stay at the club is over.

Most sides in the SGB Premiership have made changes and all now seem to have a strong reserve which in Swindon's case allows Musielak, Adam Ellis and Bradley Wilson-Dean to give each other much-needed competition – something which Gappmaier could not deliver.

Musielak practised at Blunsdon before the start of the 2015 season but signed for Wolverhampton and after a difficult start developed into a useful second string around the tight Monmore Green circuit.

Musielak makes his Robins debut when they face Belle Vue at home on Thursday and at last the team have a busy few days.

They tackle Belle Vue again in Manchester on Friday and Monday sees the side at Leicester in a BT Sport-televised match.

Hopefully the team will welcome back both skipper Jason Doyle and Nick Morris from injury for these three testing fixtures.

Neither of their Polish sides had fixtures on Sunday and we wait to see if Doyle competes in Sweden tonight (Monday).

A new safety air fence is being installed at Blunsdon probably on turn four.

This will prevent fallen riders disappearing under the air fence, a phenomenon which has caused some serious injuries in recent years – notably 2012 World Champion Chris Holder – though fortunately not at the Abbey.

The air cushion will be in place on Thursday and the prototype barrier behind it will be installed on Saturday ahed of testing by the FIM next week.

News on the new stadium front is that the drainage issues which held up progress have apparently now been resolved.
