A FISH and chip shop in Cirencester has re-opened following repair work to its range fryer.

A sign in the window of The Friar Tuck, on Dyer Street, believed to have been put up yesterday, said the popular takeaway and restaurant was "closed until further notice" due to "technical issues”.

A spokeswoman for the chip shop told the Standard this morning it was because the range fryer was broken and a repair person was due in today to fix it.

And, with an engineer having just left, Friar Tuck's has now re-opened.

"The engineer has been and fixed it. We're back up and running as normal," said a spokeswoman.
