THE Fleece Hotel has re-opened today following a revamp, which includes a sky blue paint job to the outside.

The popular Market Place pub and hotel temporarily shut its doors for two weeks to allow for the transformation of the ground floor to take place.

Next door’s Starbucks coffee shop, also owned by Thwaites Brewery, closed down at the end of May, with the revamp seeing an adjoining wall knocked through to integrate the two.

The exterior of the new half was then painted a striking blue, with not everyone in town pleased with the result.

One reader contacted the Standard to have his say on the blue paint work.

“The Fleece has struck a body blow by displaying the ultimate in bad taste and a complete lack of respect for our town,” he said.

But what do you think about the new paint job?
