A MOBILE games studio in Cirencester is set to launch its latest offering – Traffic Panic Boom Town, now with an added city-building feature.

Neon Play, based on Tetbury Road, will release the game, available for iPhone, iPad and Android devices, on Thursday.

The games see players controlling traffic, earning rewards and building a dream town.

The first Traffic Panic title was released in 2011, with the series boasting one billion plays in just six years.

From July 21, The Emoji Movie takes over Boom Town giving players the chance to win exclusive characters from the movie, as part of a 10-day extravaganza thanks to a deal with Sony Pictures.

The new game begins with a single intersection in the vast, open desert of Boom Town, where players earn rewards for getting vehicles safely across intersections by controlling the traffic lights, while collecting coins and chests to unlock buildings.

Connecting to Facebook means friends’ towns can also be visited, providing further chances for gift chests to be won every day.

Oli Christie, CEO of Neon Play, said: “This is the biggest game that Neon Play has launched and we’re seriously proud of Traffic Panic Boom Town.

“We hope that players love building their dream towns and the added fun of the Traffic Panic mini game makes this a truly unique city builder.

“We are working with some fantastic global partners and we are really excited about working with Sony Pictures on the Emoji Movie event.”
