A GANG ram-raided the Tesco store in Tetbury over the weekend.

Police were called to the store at 1.40am on Sunday.

A group of males wearing balaclavas used trolleys from the store car park to smash the front door and gain entry.

Damage was caused to the cigarette kiosk shutters and packs of cigarettes were stolen.

The gang were seen to leave the area in a black Audi, believed to be stolen, and another vehicle, to be identified by police.

CCTV, witness and forensic inquiries are ongoing.

Police believe the incident was linked to a similar incident which happened at 3.30am on the same date in Moreton-in-Marsh.

Entry was also forced at the front of the Moreton-in-Marsh store and cigarettes were stolen.

Anyone with information should call 101, and quote incident 49 and 71 of June 25.
