CIRENCESTER Opportunity Group, a playgroup for mixed ability children, unveiled their new sensory sculpture and nature trail.

The trail was generously funded by Cirencester Round Table.

The sculpture was carved by Andy O'Neill of Wildwood Carving and depicts much loved woodland creatures such as owls, a hare, badger and a fox, among others.

Lyn Cole, manager of Cirencester Opportunity Group, said: “We are overjoyed with our new sculpture and the children will have many years of enjoyment from it.

"We cannot thank Cirencester Round Table enough for their belief in the work of our charity."

Chairman of Cirencester Round Table Adam Baggs said: “It is a real pleasure to see the sculpture and sensory trail unveiled and the children absolutely love it and have been exploring and climbing all over it.

"The carving is superb and I am sure will provide hours of entertainment for many children for many years to come - and that is what counts.

"We are a relatively small group working hard to raise funds for local projects and it is therefore great to see them come to fruition."

Cirencester Opportunity Group is an independent early years centre enabling children with special needs to play and learn with other children and providing much needed support for families.
